Steve Walker enters his third season with Oakland County FC and continues to lead the club into a new chapter as Head Coach. With 28 years of coaching experience across the United States and England, Walker brings a wealth of knowledge, professionalism, and competitive leadership to the touchline.
Currently serving as Associate Head Coach at Northwood University, Walker has built an extensive résumé at the youth and collegiate levels, including leadership roles with Vardar Michigan, Vardar North, and Nationals TriCounty. His track record includes a U19 Boys State Cup championship in 2021 and multiple successful varsity coaching stints in Michigan.
A former three-year starter and two-year captain at Saginaw Valley State University, Walker also competed as a semi-professional player in England from 1993–1998. He holds a UEFA B License and an Advanced National Diploma, reflecting his commitment to continued growth and high-level standards.
Entering his third season with OCFC, Walker remains focused on building a disciplined, competitive culture as the club pushes toward its championship ambitions.
Steve Arce enters his second season as Assistant Coach with Oakland County FC, bringing high-level playing experience and a strong development background to the staff.
Arce currently serves as Director of MLS (EYDP) at Vardar, where he plays a key role in shaping elite youth talent within the national development pathway. As a player, he competed at Michigan State University from 1998–2001, earning First Team All-Region honors and two First Team All-Big Ten selections before being drafted by the Montreal Impact in 2001. He also spent time playing with Club Argentino in Mendoza in 1996.
Holding both USSF C and USSF B licenses, Arce combines professional playing pedigree with a deep understanding of player development, adding valuable perspective and technical expertise as OCFC continues its pursuit of championship success.
Mike Lupenec returns enters his second season with Oakland County FC, bringing more than 40 years of coaching and technical leadership experience to the club. A cornerstone of Michigan soccer, Lupenec spent four decades at Vardar Soccer Club as a youth coach and Technical Director, guiding teams to four National Championships and 20 State Championships while earning three Coach of the Year honors.
At the collegiate level, he served 25 years with Detroit Mercy women’s soccer at the Division I level and held assistant roles with both Detroit Mercy men’s soccer and Oakland University men’s soccer. He holds a USSF B License and is widely respected for developing technically sharp, tactically disciplined players.
As a player, Lupenec was a three-year starter at Oakland University and competed at a high level with Ukrainian Sport Club and the Windsor Wheels of the NSL, capturing league and Canadian championships.
Entering his second year with OCFC, Lupenec’s championship background and commitment to excellence continue to strengthen the club’s competitive foundation.
Mike Sheehy returns for his second season as Assistant Coach and Goalkeeper Coach, bringing 35 years of high-level goalkeeping experience and leadership to the club’s USL League Two campaign. A respected teacher of the position and a steady presence within the staff, Sheehy plays a vital role in shaping both the team’s defensive identity and overall competitive culture.
After helping guide the squad to a mid-table finish last season, Sheehy is focused on raising standards across the board as the team builds around a strong returning core and an exciting group of new additions. His approach emphasizes technical precision, tactical awareness, and mental resilience—developing goalkeepers who not only make saves, but command the game and inspire confidence throughout the squad.
As the club sets its sights on a league championship, Sheehy’s experience, professionalism, and commitment to excellence will be instrumental in driving the team forward.
