Purple Season Ahoy!

Composed by Robert Kerr
Oakland County Football Club’s 2022 season is coming into view and it’s looking spectacular. OCFC’s home opener is at Royal Oak High School Stadium, on Saturday, May 21, at 7 PM ET, after kicking off the season on the road May 8th, in Ann Arbor. County are set to play a fourteen game season in USL2’s Great Lakes Division, with seven USL2 dates at County’s new home. The 2022 schedule appears to be our most supporter-friendly to date, with excellent home dates and no road trip further than Grand Rapids. Time to get excited and set your calendars accordingly!

FULL FIXTURE SET

BIG TALENT + MORE ACCESS = BEST SUMMER EVER

Supporting Oakland County’s Supporter Owned soccer team has never been easier! With facility upgrades at our new home venue, alongside the light travel schedule: supporters, players, and our community at large, will now have greater and higher quality access to the highest level of pre-professional sports in Michigan. Sharing the world’s game, right here in metro Detroit, has always been a central tenet for OCFC. The club is excited by the progress on this front and looks forward to the continued broadening and deepening of the game’s impact in the area.

THE PATH TO GLORY FOR THE PURPLE GANG

County’s 2022 USL2 regular season gets rolling on Sunday, May 8th, away to AFC Ann Arbor, and will culminate at home on July 15th, in a clash with 2021 Great Lakes Division champion, Kalamazoo FC. The annual OCFC 4th of July Celebration Game against the Flint City Bucks returns once again in 2022. The 7/2 fixture will be the second of three matches against the Bucks this summer. New clubs Midwest United (Grand Rapids) and Lansing City round out the six-team USL2 Great Lakes Division.
The ease of travel in this year’s schedule is a major bonus. Planned travel mileage for 2022 is lower than in any previous season by a long shot, easing the burden on all those who wish to invest their time with the club. Fans, players, and staff can make more of their time around the game, rather than be limited by travel. The schedule may also give County an opportunity to defend its co-champion title, as the Michigan Milk Cup may still make a return in 2022.
