2023 Season Preview | ‘Purple Haze’ ahead

Oakland County’s best live entertainment is back! Oakland County Football Club will roll into the 2023 summer campaign on May 13 in Grand Rapids, and open at home on Saturday, May 20 at 7:30pm. Excitement is in the air as the Men In Purple have added a new coach, new players, and fresh new threads. County’s six regular season home games will be played at Royal Oak High School Stadium and will feature the club’s fun filled match day experience. Season packages and single game tickets are available now.

COUNTY’S NEW LOOK DEBUTS AT DMCU’S PRESEASON PARTY

OCFC players debuted the teams new look at the 2023 preseason party, hosted by Diversified Members Credit Union, at their Clawson branch ahead the season kicking off. County celebrated the new kit and season with live music, Ray’s Ice Cream, and a variety of giveaways. The 2023 OCFC kits were designed by club supporter Scott Balogh. Scott’s designs were then selected via a fan voting process. The 2023 design is the second OCFC kit selected via fan vote and the very first County kit designed by a supporter.

PURPLE POWER PLAYERS
Oakland County FC enters the season with a roster capable providing plenty of excitement this summer. A number of exciting new faces have arrived for the new season while a core group of key contributors have returned to team, led by head coach Brian Doyle and general manager Vinnie Vasilevski. Familiar faces Mike Melaragni and Kevin Buca are set to make their return to County. Amongst the new names: Tiffin defenders Mamudou Keita, Amara Kamara, MSU Spartan attacking duo Jake Spadafora and Richie Ludwig, and the WMU Bronco brothers, Carson and Tanner Hodgson.

THE JOURNEY AHEAD
Oakland County FC’s 2023 season features several Saturday night matches and concludes with a Sunday matinee. County open at home on May 20th against Lansing City. June then features two of the season’s premier matchups, as County welcome Flint City on June 3, and then welcome Great Lakes Division newcomers, South Bend Lions. The season will then crescendo in July with three monumental tilts. Grand Rapids based Midwest United visit July 1, the reigning division champions, Kalamazoo FC, will ride the bust to Royal Oak on July 8. OCFC’s USL2 regular season finishes up against the mighty oak of AFC Ann Arbor on July 16.
